DON ABNEY
Certified Master
Canine Trainer

Don Abney has owned and handled dogs for most of his life. His early training was taught by his father, who presented him with his first dog when he was eight years old.

Our courses are designed to be safe, effective and fun. Our methods will reduce the stress of training on both dog and owner while providing the owner a leadership position. All lessons are explained and deomonstrated, making them easier to comprehend and complete each week.

Dogs are not logical thinkers, but function on instinct and trained response. You will learn the most effective method of obtaining the desired response, and the proper manner in which to give praise. Knowing when to make a correction or give praise is extremely important in any training. Each lesson is explained so that you understand the method, and why it is more desirable and effective. Knowing and understanding what influences your dog's reactions will make training him much easier.

We provide the equipment required for the training course you choose, and written instructions are available to those that would like a ready reference of the training. Before training begins, we provide a Free Behavior Evaluation. We will complete an evaluation to pinpoint the cause of the undesirable behaviors that you are experiencing. We will provide you with Behavior Modification instructions designed to correct and/or eliminate the improper behavior.

Our boarded course places your dog within our facility for training. We provide the necessary training of whichever course you choose. Upon completion, you are notified when to pick up your dog. Upon pick-up, you are instructed in the proper methods of handling your newly trained dog, and you will be provided with written material on the training methods used.

At the conclusion of a course, we make ourselves available to assist you with any training questions or problems that should arise for as long as you own the dog.

All attended training classes are Private, one-on-one, at our location, weekdays and Saturday. All classes are scheduled in hourly segments. No Evening or Group Classes. We are closed on Wednesday and Sunday.
Boarded Training, is provided for those that wish to send their dog to our facility for training. We are opened Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to accomodate those clients who are dropping off or picking up their dogs. Prior arrangements must be made.

Should you have any questions, please fill out our Contact Form with as much detailed information as possible. We will respond to your request within 24 hours.

Payment in full is required prior to the start of training.
